Ceremonies: Milestones for Children

Many parents in Ireland are seeking secular, non-religious ceremonies to celebrate and mark important transitions in their children's lives.

As a member of The Irish Ethical Celebrants Society, I believe that all children deserve a milestone ceremony regardless of their religious background and beliefs. I am therefore delighted that the IECS have created these ceremonies as an alternative to first communion and confirmation ceremonies.

In line with the basic tenets of the IECS, and celebrants worldwide, we want to help children feel included, celebrated, loved and supported. These ceremonies offer choice to mark the occasion in a structured, meaningful and memorable way, surrounded by family, friends and neighbours.

Milestone Ceremonies have been created and developed by the Irish Ethical Celebrants Society (IECS), and are delivered by IECS members in accordance with the guidelines they have issued.
